Our language school is located in the very heart of San Diego, with restaurants, shops and transport links all nearby. The famous San Diego Zoo, the Symphony Hall and San Diego Bay are all within easy walking distance. We offer TOEFL and Cambridge Examination preparation courses, among our many different English programmes. The school itself is housed in a modern building, and you will benefit from facilities including a computer room with free internet access while you study English.

San Diego is a beautiful coastal city located in Southern California just 20 minutes from Mexico. It is known for its warm climate that remains moderate throughout the year. Seascapes, beaches, mountains, and deserts make up the varied landscape of this area, making San Diego one of the premier vacation destinations for people worldwide.
San Diego is a very easy-going city with spectacular scenery and many entertainment possibilities.
There are many great places to visit, including Balboa Park, which is a short walk from the heart of downtown and LSI. Full of museums, gardens, artist colonies, fountains, walking trails, architecture, and gorgeous views of the San Diego Harbor and downtown area, this park is known as one of the favorite spots for both locals and visitors alike. While visiting the park, many people enjoy stopping by the world famous San Diego Zoo. Known for its lush foliage, unique and rare inhabitants, including many animal species, the zoo is truly a site to see! It is a wonderful place to walk around and take photos. Voted as having the second most perfect weather in the world and with a multitude of outdoor adventure opportunities, San Diego is a top tourist destination. While you are out enjoying the beautiful San Diego weather, you can also feel comfortable knowing that you are in the safest big city in the United States. With seventy miles of beaches and plenty of sun, “America’s Finest City” is sure to be a place you will remember for years to come!

The school occupies a three-story building that it shares with one local tenant (a successful architect). Classes are held on all three floors and the reception/administrative office is located on the third floor. We are located in downtown San Diego. Nearby entertainment includes Balboa Park, Little Italy, the Gaslamp Quarter, the harbor, and Seaport Village-- all within walking distance of the school.
LSI San Diego is located in the downtown area of San Diego. The building is located at 1706 Fifth Avenue, about a 10-minute walk from the city center. The building is within walking distance of several bus stops and the Fifth Avenue trolley stop at C St.

What facilities are available to students?
LSI students may use the Student Lounge/Resource Room and Study Rooms. The Student Lounge has vending machines with snacks and beverages, plus a sink, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator for student use. The area around the school includes several restaurants and cafes, where students may purchase inexpensive meals for breakfast and lunch in the $5 to $15 range. LSI San Diego is wheelchair accessible. We also have 10 computers which provide students with free internet access. Free wireless is also available at the school.

How many classrooms are there?
We are currently operating 16 rooms of varying sizes.

Do you have a cafeteria?
No, but we are very close to many affordable cafes, restaurants, sandwich shops and markets. Students may also bring lunch and eat it in our student lounge, where there are vending machines, a refrigerator, and a microwave.

Terms & Conditions

Payment conditions
All course fees must be paid in full no later than 30 days before the course starts. If a booking is made less than 30 days before the course starts, the fees are immediately payable. If payment in full has not been received, you will not be allowed to start your course.

Bank charges
LSI reserves the right to charge up to an additional 2.75% processing fee for all credit card payments. For payments made via bank transfer, LSI reserves the right to charge an additional fee to cover bank charges. In both these cases, students will be informed of any such fees at the time of purchase.

Visa information
Once we have received your application, we will send a Proof of Funds form, which must be completed in order for LSI to issue you a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20), which is required in order to apply for a student visa at the US Consulate.

Courier fees
If you enrol on a course in the USA less than 30 days before the course start date and require an I-20, a courier fee of US$65 will be charged to cover the expedition of visa documentation. If you enrol more than 30 days before the course start date, documentation will be sent by normal postal service, unless you request and pay for the courier service.

Travel and medical insurance
Travel and medical insurance is strongly recommended at all LSI schools for the duration of your stay, regardless of your course length or course/visa type. For some programme or visa types, insurance is compulsory (please check with the school for further details). It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate cover before departure and for the duration of your stay. Students may be required to show proof of medical insurance at the school upon arrival and may not be allowed to commence a course until satisfactory medical insurance has been obtained. Travel and medical insurance can be purchased from a third party through LSI when booking. Details of what this covers are available from your LSI representative. You are responsible for the belongings which you bring with you to LSI schools or accommodation and for taking out insurance for your own possessions.

Additional services
Any additional services (transfers, travel, laundry, telephone costs, excursions, medical costs, special diet, exam fees, change of accommodation and enrolment amendments) are not included in any fees unless specifically stated on a valid invoice.

Under 18 year olds (19 in Vancouver)
LSI delivers adult courses (except for programmes advertised as being for Juniors). Therefore, students aged 16 and 17 will be attending classes and sharing facilities with students aged 18 and over. Under 18 year olds may be required to pay a guardian fee, provide custodianship documents, live in LSI-approved accommodation, book LSI’s airport transfer service and purchase insurance. All students under 18 (19 in Vancouver) must provide a signed Parental Consent form prior to arrival, and for Canada they must also provide a signed Health Declaration and excursion waiver form.

Cancellation before the course start date
For cancellations made 7 days or more prior to the course start date, all tuition fees are refunded. For cancellations made within 7 days of the student enrolling in a course, defined as the school having received the enrolment form and registration fee, 100% of tuition fees are refunded (regardless of whether or not the course has started). All students attending an LSI school in the USA will be subject to the applicable, location-specific State Enrolment & Refund policies. Should LSI's refund policies differ from state regulations, refunds will be processed according to the state policies, available upon request from each school.

Termination Policy – Cancellation after the course has started
For cancellations made within 7 days of the student enrolling in a course, defined as the school having received the enrolment form and registration fee, including courses that have started, 100% of tuition fees are refundable. If the student terminates after having completed more than 60% of the program, there is no refund. In all other cases, unused weeks tuition are refundable.
